2 Main Production Processes
There are two distinct manufacturing technologies for stainless rectangular tubes, among which welded stainless rectangular tube is the most widely adopted.
1. Welded Stainless Steel Rectangular Tube
· Slit stainless steel coils into narrow strips with target width.
· Cold roll and curl strips into open round tube blanks, then further shaped into open rectangular profiles.
· Seal the seam via combined TIG welding + plasma welding.
· Post-processing including weld grinding, sizing and surface finishing.

2. Seamless Stainless Steel Rectangular Tube
· Hot-pierce solid stainless steel billets into hollow seamless round tubes.
· Reduce outer diameter and wall thickness via multiple cold drawing / cold rolling passes.
· Form rectangular cross-sections by pulling round tubes through custom rectangular dies.
· Intersperse multi-pass cold drawing and intermediate annealing procedures.
· Final treatment: pickling, straightening and polishing.

- Density coefficient: For common stainless steels such as 304 and 316, the density coefficient is typically taken as 0.02491; the coefficient for 316L is 0.02507, while 310S has a higher density, with a coefficient of approximately 0.02507.
- Long side, short side, and wall thickness: Units are in millimeters (mm).
