Aluminized steel pipe is a type of pipe with an aluminum-silicon alloy coating on its surface. It uses high-frequency welded (ERW) pipe as the base material. The mainstream products on the market are divided into two major categories: Type 1 aluminum-silicon coating and Type 2 pure aluminum coating; the most commonly used in the industry is the aluminum-silicon-coated steel pipe. Its main features include high-temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, and heat reflection.
Glory Steel is a professional manufacturer and supplier of aluminized steel pipes. The entire product line utilizes high-quality cold-rolled deep-drawing base material, is available in a full range of sizes, and supports customization and further processing for all sizes.

Product Types
- Type 1 Aluminum-Silicon Alloy Coating: A coating consisting of 90% Al and 10% Si, this is the most widely used type. It offers high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance comparable to stainless steel at approximately one-third the cost.
- Type 2 Pure Aluminum Coating: Provides general corrosion protection under normal temperature conditions; its high-temperature resistance is inferior to that of Type 1.

Advantages
- High-Temperature Resistance and Oxidation Resistance: These are its key advantages, offering excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and withstanding temperatures ranging from 450°C to 927°C.
- Excellent Heat Reflectivity: Aluminum has outstanding heat-reflecting properties; its low heat absorption reduces heat dissipation. It offers outstanding cost-effectiveness in high-temperature operating conditions.
- Good Machinability: We provide machining services for this type of tube, including cutting, flaring, and punching. The coating is resistant to peeling.
- Corrosion Protection: It reacts with air to form a dense layer of aluminum oxide, which passivates the steel tube substrate and provides comprehensive protection against oxidation.

Application Areas

Classification of Cold-Rolled Base Materials
- General Forming Grade: DX51D, SPCC, DC01; suitable for straight tubes.
- Standard Deep Drawing Grade: DX53D, SPCD, DC03; mainstream grades.
- Ultra-Deep Drawing Grade: DX54D, SPCE, DC04; for processing complex parts.

Production and Processing Procedures
Cold-rolled steel strip slitting → Coiled steel strip formed into open-ended steel tubes → High-frequency welding to form closed-ended steel tubes → Cutting to length → Grinding and deburring of tube ends → Pretreatment (degreasing and acid pickling) → Hot-dip aluminum coating by immersion in high-temperature aluminum-silicon melt → Cooling and straightening → Final inspection of finished products
Coating Structure
- Outer Layer: Al-Si eutectic layer (aluminum-silicon alloy layer).
- Intermediate Transition Layer: Al-Fe-Si alloy layer (iron-aluminum-silicon intermetallic compound layer).
- Substrate: Low-carbon steel tube (cold-rolled steel base).

Why can’t we hot-dip Aluminum before welding?
- If aluminum plating is applied before welding, the high temperatures of the weld will erode and damage the aluminum coating on both sides, making it highly susceptible to rust;
- The slag and oxide layer produced during welding will contaminate the aluminum coating, which cannot be repaired, rendering the finished product unfit for use;
- The globally standardized process involves hot-dip galvanizing the entire pipe after it has been formed.
