
Galvanized round pipe is carbon steel pipe with circular cross-section after galvanization. It adopts two anti-rust treatments: hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. In terms of manufacturing process, it is divided into welded pipe and seamless pipe. Hot-dip galvanized welded round pipe is the most popular option.

Additional notes
SS400: Japanese standard material, conforming to JIS G3101 standard, applicable to steel plates, flat steel, and structural steel (I-beams, channel steel, angle steel), specifically referring to structural steel, not a dedicated steel pipe standard.


Galvanizing Processes
Zinc coating protects the steel substrate from oxidation, so galvanized pipe is a composite of steel and zinc. A thicker zinc layer means better anti-rust ability.
Hot-dip Galvanized Round Pipe
The mainstream process. Steel pipes are fully immersed in molten zinc liquid. It forms thick, firm and controllable zinc coating with typical zinc spangles on surface.
Electro-galvanized Round Pipe
Zinc ions adhere to the pipe surface via electrolysis. The coating is thin with limited anti-corrosion effect but bright finish, suitable for dry indoor environments.

Production Process
ERW Welded Galvanized Pipe (Mainstream)
Raw hot rolled or cold rolled steel strips are formed into a tubular shape and welded into black pipes, then processed by hot-dip galvanizing.
Seamless Galvanized Pipe
Solid steel billets are pierced and rolled into seamless black pipes before hot-dip galvanizing. It is mainly used for high pressure and high temperature working conditions.
