Features

What are the types of 304 SS steel pipes?

1. Classification by process

• Seamless 304 Stainless Steel Pipe: Seamless throughout, high dimensional accuracy, uniform wall thickness, high pressure and high temperature resistance, high safety, but relatively high price.

• Welded 304 Stainless Steel Pipe: Contains weld seams, high production efficiency, many sizes available, lower price, raw materials are hot-rolled/cold-rolled steel plates/strips. 304 welded pipes are mainly ERW straight-seam welded pipes, with spiral welded pipes being less common.

2. Classification by cross-sectional shape

• Round 304 stainless steel pipe: With a circular cross-section, it is the most common pipe shape, easy to process and connect.

• Square/Rectangular 304 stainless steel pipe: With a square/rectangular cross-section, it is often used for railings, furniture, vehicle frames, and building structures.
• Oval/Irregularly Shaped 304 stainless steel pipe: With cross-sections of ellipse, hexagon, semicircle, etc., it is used for decoration and special structures.

3. Classification By Surface Treatment

• Brushed/Hairline – Surface with directional long straight lines, fingerprint-resistant, matte, used for decoration and handrails.
• NO.4 – Short-fiber frosted finish, surface with short straight lines, discontinuous lines, non-directional, matte, and fingerprint-resistant.
• 8k Mirror Polished – Highly reflective, can be used as a mirror, no texture, used for high-end decoration.
• Pickled – Matte surface with oxide scale removed, grayish-white, corrosion-resistant, the basic treatment for NO.1, mostly used for industrial fluid pipelines. In addition, we offer color treatments such as rose gold, PVD titanium plating, and coating treatments.
