Galvanized Plumbing Pipe refers to hot-dip galvanized carbon steel pipes manufactured by welding MS low-carbon steel strips. Featuring outstanding corrosion resistance, they are widely used in HVAC, water supply and drainage systems. As a widely consumed pipe product in the plumbing industry, it effectively isolates acid, alkali and salt media.

In the industry, Galvanized Plumbing Pipe and Galvanized Water Pipe share identical base material and manufacturing process; the only difference lies in applicable standards. Water Pipe generally refers to pipelines for potable water supply, while Plumbing Pipe is a general term for engineering plumbing pipes covering full scenarios including HVAC, fire protection, water supply & drainage and industrial fluid transmission.

Features
- Long-lasting rust prevention: Our plumbing steel pipes adopt high-temperature hot-dip galvanization. The zinc-iron alloy layer adheres firmly without peeling or zinc nodules, with a zinc coating thickness of 50~100μm, which strongly isolates corrosive media and atmosphere.
- Stable mechanical performance: Benefiting from the excellent tensile strength and yield properties of ERW carbon steel pipes, it meets pressure-bearing demands for civil engineering.
- Sanitary and smooth flow: Galvanized pipes for plumbing have low fluid resistance with no burrs or oxidation pits. They are less prone to impurity and scale buildup to ensure smooth water flow.
- Easy installation: The pipes support smooth on-site threading and connection, improving construction efficiency, and are compatible with global elbows, tees, flanges and valves.

Applications
- Building Water Supply & Drainage: Cold water supply and heating pipelines for residences and office buildings, sewage treatment.
- Fire Protection: Pump inlet and outlet pipes, sprinkler pipes.
- Municipal & Agricultural Works: Municipal landscape irrigation, HVAC piping systems, water supply and drainage for livestock breeding.
- Industrial & Temporary Structures: Factory circulating water pipelines; mainly for fluid transmission and also usable as structural pipes.

Anti-Corrosion Mechanism of Galvanized Coating
The silvery zinc layer acts as a physical barrier to prevent direct contact between the steel substrate and external media. If the coating is scratched, active zinc will corrode preferentially to protect the steel base. It further forms basic zinc carbonate by reacting with atmospheric gases to block corrosion.

FAQ
Q1: Will galvanized water pipes rust?
A: Yes. The zinc layer only slows down corrosion. Its service life ranges from several years to decades depending on the service environment.
Q2: What is the difference between galvanized water pipes and galvanized plumbing pipes?
A: Water pipes are specially designed for potable water supply systems with higher sanitary requirements. Plumbing pipes are general-purpose pipes covering water supply, drainage, gas, fire protection and other systems.
Q3: Can galvanized water pipes be used for drinking water?
A: Not recommended. Ordinary hot-dip galvanized engineering pipes have no sanitary certification for potable water. Many countries have restricted the application of standard galvanized pipes for direct drinking water. This product is only suitable for non-potable working conditions such as building and industrial fluid transmission.
Q4: Is galvanized pipe good for plumbing?
A: Yes, galvanized plumbing pipe is an excellent choice for general plumbing systems. They offer excellent corrosion resistance, stable mechanical properties, and good machinability, meeting conventional engineering plumbing usage requirements.
Q5: What is the difference between hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing?
A: The zinc thickness of hot-dip galvanizing is 5~10 times that of electro-galvanizing, and its anti-corrosion service life is also 5~10 times longer. Hot-dip galvanizing is mandatory for outdoor pipeline projects, while electro-galvanizing is only suitable for indoor decoration or fasteners.
Q6: Can you provide material test certificates?
A: MTC (EN 10204 3.1/3.2) can be supplied along with goods. Third-party inspections such as SGS and BV are acceptable.
