In June 2026, 50 metric tons of SCH 40 galvanized pipe manufactured by Glory Steel arrived in full at South Port in Manila, Philippines. The customer recently completed pickup of the shipment, which was shipped in two 40HQ containers and took approximately seven days to arrive.

Customer Background
The client is an engineering company based on Luzon Island that recently won the bid for the Manila Port renovation project, which includes extensive water supply and drainage pipeline upgrades. Due to the humid local climate, the client decided to forego black steel pipes in favor of hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, selecting Q235 as the base material. As this is their first collaboration with us, they opted for a small trial order. If the quality meets their expectations, they plan to place repeat orders or recommend us to other engineering firms.

Project Production
1-inch pipe, with a theoretical weight of approximately 2.5 kg/m. 1-1/2-inch pipe, with a theoretical weight of approximately 4.05 kg/m. The customer ordered a total of approximately 2,700 pieces of these two types of pipe.
After the raw hot-rolled steel strips arrived, the entire process—from slitting, forming, and high-frequency welding to hot-dip galvanizing—took about ten days.
Since the destination is in the tropics, we applied a high-zinc coating during the hot-dip galvanizing process.

Quality Inspection
This is a systematic process conducted for every delivery. All pipes undergo straightness, wall thickness, and outer diameter inspections, as well as eddy current testing, hydrostatic testing, and a 72-hour salt spray test to prevent white rust from forming.
Packaging and Shipping

After all batches pass quality inspection, they are bundled in a hexagonal configuration, secured at both ends with steel straps. Each bundle contains more than 20-50 pipes and measures 610 millimeters wide by 100 millimeters high, facilitating forklift loading into shipping containers.
Once the vessel departs, we immediately send the complete set of customs clearance documents to the customer. The customer’s customs clearance process proceeds smoothly.
Market Outlook for HDG Pipes in the Philippines
In 2017, the Philippine government launched the “Build, Build, Build” initiative and further introduced the “Build Better More” economic strategy in 2022–2023. This has positioned infrastructure development and urbanization as key directions for the Philippines’ future growth. Since infrastructure development remains a consistent government policy, market demand for HDG pipes used in flood control, drainage, and structural support will continue to grow.
